British Values at Buzzee Beez

At Buzzee Beez Preschool, we promote the Fundamental British Values as part of our everyday practice and the EYFS. These values help children develop confidence, respect for others and an understanding of the community around them.

Democracy – Making Decisions Together

Children are encouraged to have a voice and know that their opinions matter. We provide opportunities to make choices, share ideas, vote, take turns and work together.

Rule of Law – Understanding Rules

​

We help children understand why rules and boundaries are important. Through everyday routines, children learn about right and wrong, the consequences of their actions and how agreed rules help keep everyone safe and happy

Individual Liberty – Freedom to Choose

Children are supported to become confident and independent individuals. They are encouraged to make choices, explore their interests, express their feelings and opinions, and develop confidence in their own abilities.

Mutual Respect & Tolerance – Celebrating Everyone

We provide an inclusive environment where everyone is valued and respected. Children learn about different families, cultures, faiths, traditions and communities through stories, activities, celebrations and everyday experiences. We encourage kindness, sharing and respect for others while challenging stereotypes and any behaviour that does not reflect our inclusive values.

Our Prevent Duty

Alongside promoting British Values, we follow our statutory Prevent Duty, helping to safeguard children from harmful or extremist influences. This forms part of our wider safeguarding responsibilities and our commitment to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for every child.
